Sock It To Me: Santa Rosa's 19th Annual Drive for Students Opens at Five Libraries Through December 2
New socks, pajamas, underwear, jackets and coats - dropped at any county library in Gulf Breeze, Milton, Pace, Jay or Navarre - go straight to Santa Rosa County School District students who need warm clothing this winter.

The bins are out again in Santa Rosa County. The 19th annual Sock It To Me donation drive opened on Monday, November 2, and runs through Wednesday, December 2, collecting new socks, pajamas, underwear, jackets and coats so that local students have warm, new clothing during the colder months.
Donating is built to be easy: items can be dropped off at any of the county's five library locations - the Gulf Breeze Library on Shoreline Drive, the Milton Library on Alabama Street, the Pace Library on Pace Patriot Boulevard, the Jay Library on Booker Lane, and the Navarre Library on James M. Harvell Road. Every donation goes to the Santa Rosa County School District, for students in need.
Nineteen years in, the drive is one of the county's quiet fixtures - no gala, no telethon, just a month in which a pair of new socks or a warm coat left at a library desk becomes a colder morning made easier for a kid the donor will never meet. Santa Rosa County Economic Development, which coordinates the drive, can be reached at 850-623-0174 for anyone who wants the details before they drop a bag at the library.
