Florida Early Voting Final Total: 5.14 Million Ballots Cast Before Election Day

Florida's early vote closed Saturday at 5,142,654 ballots, the On Point Politics tracker reported — 3.25 million cast in person and 1.89 million by mail — already matching the state's entire 2022 early total with Election Day still to come.

Florida Early Voting Final Total: 5.14 Million Ballots Cast Before Election Day (Pensacola Watch News)

Florida's early-voting chapter is closed, and it was a big one. The On Point Politics early vote tracker put the final total at 5,142,654 ballots cast as of Saturday, October 31 — 3,248,285 of them cast in person and 1,894,369 returned by mail, compiled from state election offices via civicAPI. The tracker notes the figure already equals 100 percent of the 5.06 million early ballots cast in all of 2022.

By party registration, Republicans accounted for 40.7 percent of the early ballots and Democrats 37.7 percent, the tracker reported. A second compilation, callthemap's civicAPI file, counted 4,956,134 ballots returned through October 31, up 229,641 that day and 9 percent ahead of the same point in 2022, with Democrats up 13 percent, Republicans up 1 percent and unaffiliated voters up 19 percent against their 2022 marks. The trackers compile county reports on different cutoffs, which is why their totals differ.

In Escambia County, early voting ran its final day Saturday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. at 10 locations. What remains is Election Day itself: Tuesday, November 3, when every voter who has not yet cast a ballot votes at their assigned precinct, with polls open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
