Florida voters are turning out ahead of the 2022 pace as early voting closes. The newest compiled count, via civicAPI's tally of state and county election offices through October 31, puts ballots returned at 4,956,134 — up 229,641 in a single day and about 9 percent ahead of the same point in the 2022 midterm cycle. Florida's own Division of Elections file, which runs a day behind, counted 4,726,493 ballots through October 30.

The party-registration split shows where the growth is coming from. Registered Democrats had cast 1,873,536 ballots through October 31, up 13 percent from the same point in 2022, while registered Republicans had cast 2,016,179, up 1 percent, and unaffiliated voters were up 19 percent, according to the compiled count. Registration is not a vote choice: the figures say who has participated, not which candidates they picked.

A second tracker, On Point Politics, put Florida's October 31 total at 4,888,216 ballots — 1,874,113 returned by mail and 3,014,103 cast in person — with registered Republicans accounting for 40.6 percent of ballots cast and registered Democrats 37.9 percent. In Escambia County, Saturday was the final day of early voting, with ten sites open until 6 p.m.; Election Day is Tuesday, November 3, when polls are open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and mail ballots must be received by the Elections Office by 7 p.m.
