Florida Gas Prices Ease to $3.88 in AAA's Latest Reading — Still About a Dollar Above Last Year
Florida drivers got a little relief at the pump this week. AAA's daily state average for regular gasoline was $3.88 a gallon as of October 31 — down on the week — but the same gallon still costs roughly a dollar more than it did a year ago, and diesel sits at $6.01.
Florida's pump prices are easing into Election week — from a high level. AAA's daily state average for regular gasoline in Florida was $3.88 a gallon as of Saturday, October 31, with midgrade at $4.35, premium at $4.69 and diesel at $6.01, according to the AAA snapshot compiled by FuelWide. At that average, a 15-gallon fill of regular costs about $58.23.
The trend is down, for now. The same 15-gallon fill cost $3.74 more a week earlier, on October 24, and $63.80 a month ago. Stacker's compilation of AAA data put Florida's average at $3.92 as of October 30, down 21 cents — 5.1 percent — on the week.
The year-over-year picture is the sting. That fill cost $44.46 a year ago, and Stacker's AAA compilation put the annual increase at 99 cents a gallon, or 33.9 percent. Florida's all-time record regular average remains $4.89 a gallon, set on June 13, 2022. Prices vary by station and metro, and the state average is a benchmark, not a promise at any single pump in Pensacola.
