More Than 5.15 Million Floridians Have Already Voted, the State's Sunday Count Shows
Florida's pre-Election Day total climbed to 5,159,537 in the Division of Elections' count compiled at 8:09 a.m. Sunday - 3.26 million ballots cast early in person and 1.90 million returned by mail, with 550,106 mail ballots still out.

Two days before Election Day, 5,159,537 Floridians have already voted. That is the total in the Florida Division of Elections' vote-by-mail and early voting statistics compiled at 8:09 a.m. on Sunday, November 1, as reported by Launchpad Digital Florida - up from 4,274,034 in the count compiled Friday morning, a jump of more than 885,000 ballots across early voting's final weekend.
The split shows how Florida votes now. Ballots cast early in person total 3,256,797 - Republicans 1,430,249, Democrats 1,127,932, other parties 85,108 and voters with no party affiliation 613,508. Ballots returned by mail total 1,902,740 - Democrats 815,396, Republicans 668,424, other parties 46,818 and no party affiliation 372,102. A ballot cast by a registered partisan is not necessarily a vote for that party's candidates; the figures measure who has voted, not how.
One number still matters for Tuesday: 550,106 mail ballots have been sent to voters but not yet returned. A mail ballot only counts if the county supervisor of elections receives it by 7 p.m. on Election Day, Tuesday, November 3 - postmarks do not save it - so voters still holding one are advised to deliver it in person rather than mail it. Polls are open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. local time Tuesday for everyone voting on the day, Escambia and Santa Rosa included.
