Trump Rallies Daytona Beach for Donalds and Moody in Florida's Final Campaign Weekend

President Donald Trump took the stage at the Ocean Center in Daytona Beach on Friday, October 30, four days before Election Day, to boost the top of Florida's Republican ticket. Rep. Byron Donalds, the Republican nominee for governor, and U.S. Sen. Ashley Moody both spoke ahead of him, and a late-arriving crowd nearly filled the arena's 9,300 seats, the Daytona Beach News-Journal reported. Trump spoke for more than 90 minutes.

Trump told the crowd, as reported by George Magazine: "Ladies and gentlemen of Florida, the golden age of America is upon us, but you must get out and vote Republican and vote for Byron Donalds and Ashley Moody." He also urged voters to pretend his own name is on the ballot, arguing that doing so raises turnout. Donalds is seeking to succeed term-limited Gov. Ron DeSantis against Democrat David Jolly. Moody, appointed to the Senate after Marco Rubio became Secretary of State, faces state Rep. Angie Nixon.

The Daytona Beach stop was Trump's second consecutive Friday in Florida — he rallied in Fort Myers the week before — and his second speech at the Ocean Center, where he also appeared in August 2016. Florida polls open Tuesday, November 3, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.; in Escambia County, Saturday is the final day of early voting.
