After the Rally, the Road: Ice Flyers Take Two at Roanoke This Weekend, Then Come Home to Jersey Giveaway Night
Sunday's third-period rally bought the Ice Flyers a 3-2 win over Birmingham and a winning feeling to travel with. The week now runs through Roanoke - Friday and Saturday at 6:05 - before the Bay Center lights come back on November 13.

The Ice Flyers leave town the way a team wants to: with a comeback in the bank. Pensacola rallied in the third period on Sunday to edge the Birmingham Bulls 3-2 on Day of the Dead at the Pensacola Bay Center, with goaltender Rico DiMatteo stopping 20 of 22 Birmingham shots, the team reported in its official recap. The game itself already has its own file in this station's queue; what Monday adds is the shape of the week that win just bought.
The road comes first. Pensacola plays two games against the Roanoke Rail Yard Dogs in Virginia - Friday, November 6 and Saturday, November 7, both at 6:05 p.m., per the team's published road-ahead listing. (The club's recap words the second game as 'Sunday, Nov. 7'; the preview's schedule listing, carried here, has it on Saturday.) Two road games in two nights against the same opponent is the SPHL's standard weekend test: whatever works Friday gets answered on Saturday.
Then the Hangar gets its team back for the month's biggest home weekend. The Ice Flyers return home Friday, November 13 for Adult Jersey Giveaway Night at 7:05 p.m., and stay home Saturday, November 14 for Blue Angels Night - the homecoming-weekend game on the calendar since the schedule came out. A split or better in Roanoke, and November 13 becomes a welcome-home party; the rally over Birmingham was the first step toward it.
