HizashiCon Closes Sunday in Pensacola: One More Day of Anime, Cosplay and Cat-puccinos
HizashiCon, the Japan-America Society of Northwest Florida's anime festival, wraps up its Foo Foo Festival run on Sunday, November 1, with a 1-to-6 p.m. closing session downtown — after a Sunday-morning 'Cat-puccinos and Cosplay' brunch at Coastal Cat Café.
Pensacola's anime weekend has one day left. HizashiCon, presented by the Japan-America Society of Northwest Florida as part of Foo Foo Festival, closes Sunday, November 1, with a final session from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m., according to the festival's Visit Pensacola listing. The festival is in its third year.
Saturday was the main convention day at The Wright Place, 6 East Wright Street: the convention ran from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., followed by a concert from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Attendees were invited to come in their Halloween best for a day of panel programming, Maid Café performances, the cosplay contest, the idol festival and karaoke, the Foo Foo Festival's event page says. Its Idol Festival features nine idols — two virtual performers and seven appearing in person.
Sunday starts away from the convention floor. Coastal Cat Café, 1508 West Garden Street, hosts 'Cat-puccinos and Cosplay' on Sunday morning, with reservation blocks from 10 to 11:15 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m., before the closing session downtown. The weekend opened Friday with a 'Giant Robot' film screening and a question-and-answer session with co-founder Martin Wong, presented with 309 Punk Project as a co-branded Foo Foo event.
